Tri Ply Male

"From his heart the black flock flies / To rest in foreign fields with poppy eyes"

The lyric is very mysterious, I figure it's about a mythical creature. Musically, this is one more step into a new direction, this song has no standard song structure (for example, there is no chorus) and the mix of instruments is unique. I use E-Bowed guitar along with "classical" chamber music instruments. I try to pick up our "classical" composing heritage as well as pop music structures and combine them into something special. Lyrics: Paul Tapp.

Pure Gold

"Joy thumps the buried savage / that's something to feel ... before you die"

I don't know what it is with this song but there's something magical about it. I wrote the music at a point where I was very frustrated with figuring out new music and all of a sudden it would flow. Lyrics: Paul Tapp.

I Must Stay

"When the water flows / the dark night speaks"

A post-Grunge song in a way, about when it's better to go. I labeled it Slow Motion Head Banger and that's exactly what it is. Lyrics: Paul Tapp.

FM2 / New Folk Old Fable

"Did you get the News / we cut the cable"

This is a very ambitious song project and yet it's great, go figure. It starts off with an instrumental called FM2 and if you think your speakers are broken this is most likely not the case. The song itself is called New Folk, Old Fable. It's a little Radioheadish I think and one of my attempts to overcome traditional song structures. Judy Hoover was so kind to provide the harmony vocal. Lyrics: Paul Tapp.

Love's Far from Fair

"We came down this road / and we piled the miles high"

A road song? Yes! I don't know if it was really Neil Young who coined the phrase "manly spank sound", but at any rate it applies here. Another nice line is "Between the sheets you make up my head". Feel free to have your head made up by this song, we're glad to be of service. Lyrics: Paul Tapp.

A Very Good Dream

"Over, under around and through / nucleus intact ... in fact ... I always knew"

The music is somewhat dream-like as you would expect. A dusty piano and the "dusty by definition" Mellotron sound. The noises where on the early guide tracks and I kept them as they seem to add to the atmosphere. Lyrics: Paul Tapp

Whatever

"My flesh is aburn / With a fire that can't consume me"

This is an older song from 2005, an early incarnation of "manly spank sound". The lyric is somewhat megalomanic but hey it fits right in there. I generally don't like these guitar solos of the improvised kind, but this one . . . is right in your face. Lyrics: Barbara Geller Diaz
